Hey everyone! In class yesterday, we discussed the presidencies of George Washington and John Adams and how it led to the organization of stronger political parties. We also analyzed the Alien and Sedition Acts and discussed whether the government was justified for passing the laws and whether it violated the 1st Amendment.
For homework, you are to research another event that was instrumental to the formation of our country: the election of 1800. Please research the event and write a paragraph on whether you believe the election was revolutionary. You must explain what happened during the election and what were the effects of it. We are going to begin discussing judicial review and the presidency of Thomas Jefferson next class.
